Our mission

Take back your life.
Learn to lead your mind.

I created Disorder Destroyers because I know what it’s like to lose hours, independence, and parts of your life to OCD. I also know how much the right help can matter.

My story

There were nights when getting home from work didn’t mean my day was over. I could spend hours beside my parked car, checking the doors, windows, and parking brake.

All of this to quiet the terrifying thoughts: What if my car gets stolen or towed? What if I had parked inconsiderately? Or worse—what if it rolled away and caused a fatal accident because I had forgotten to put it in park?

That was part of my 30-year battle with OCD.

I first recognized something familiar in a television discussion about OCD when I was nine. As I grew up, contamination fears, repeated checking, and the need for things to feel “right” became part of my life. There were also years when I worked, drove, ran, and built an independent life while OCD remained manageable.

By 2017, that had changed. Checking followed me through my workday and home again. Setting an alarm could turn into hours of repetition. Some nights, I didn’t sleep at all. I was exhausted, struggling to keep up, and losing more of my life and autonomy to doubt.

By the end of that year, I had truly hit rock bottom. It was a miracle that I managed to hold on to my job. I could barely function from day to day, and for several weeks, thanks to hit-and-run OCD, I couldn’t drive at all.

Thankfully, I’m blessed with an amazing family. My sister Sheri and brother-in-law Nick took me into their home when I was at my worst. You could call it some unexpected practice before they had their first child.

Many other family members helped and supported me too—especially my mom, Cindy.

In 2018, an intensive OCD treatment program at the Gateway Institute in Costa Mesa, California, helped me take my life back.

That experience is why I became a coach and created Disorder Destroyers. I know what it’s like to want to move forward while your mind keeps pulling you back into another check, another question, another demand for certainty.

Today, I work alongside licensed clinicians to help people put exposure work into practice and stay accountable between therapy sessions. I bring my firsthand experience—and a fierce fire—to that work. OCD stole my 20s from me. I aim to be the friend I wish I had during my darkest days.

My biggest piece of advice?

Start TODAY.

Do not wait. Do not allow OCD to steal another second of your amazing, precious life.

Yes, doing the work may be one of the toughest challenges of your life. But avoiding it—avoiding the discomfort—can leave you carrying the kind of regret I carry: wishing I had started sooner.

Stay Strong 💪🏼❤️🔥
